Gregory R. Applegate, M.D.    
             
 

Dr. Applegate, a diplomat of the American Board of Radiology, was appointed Medical Director of Valley Presbyterian Magnetic Resonance Center (VPMRC) in 1992. He has served on the medical advisory board for U.S. Diagnostic, the Steering Committee, and he has served on the Interactive Advisory panel for General Electric Medical Systems. Additionally, Dr. Applegate is the Medical Director of Pacific Advanced Radiology Medical Group. Dr. Applegate and San Fernando MRI Center, serve as a clinical evaluation and show-site for General Electric Medical Systems and The Medrad Co., a leading manufacturer of MRI coils. He also developed a custom-built foot and ankle holder to optimize the imaging of the foot and ankle, currently being evaluated by Medrad for commercial distribution.

Dr. Applegate has lectured extensively, nationally and internationally, as a recurrent invited faculty member for the American Academy of Orthopedics, the International Shoulder Congress, and the Metcalf Memorial Arthroscopy course. He was also invited to address the ISAKOS conference in New Zealand and served as a key note speaker at the Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society. Dr. Applegate has published extensively on the advanced applications of magnetic resonance imaging, primarily with emphasis on musculoskeletal applications, and has recently published a textbook with four shoulder arthroscopists entitled " Shoulder Arthroscopy and MRI Techniques ". Dr. Applegate was the first to publish the role of MR Arthrography in Evaluation of the Post Operative Knee. Dr. Applegate also first published 3D MR Arthrography from an Intraarticular Perspective of the Shoulder. He has personally performed and interpreted in excess of 10,000 M. R. Arthrograms.
